POSITION SUMMARY
Perform tissue culture and biodistribution procedures related to CMIT projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Perform cell culture experiments, including cell line maintenance, culture of primary cells and related assays with some endpoint evaluation (ELISA, PCR, RT-PCR, Flow cytometry, Western blot).
• Perform efficacy, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD), MOA, dose-response, toxicology/bio-distribution studies.
• Keep a study record by maintaining a detailed, accurate laboratory notebook.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and conduct regular assessments and record the equipment’s performance including initiating troubleshooting steps as needed.
• Any other duties, responsibilities, or tasks necessary to further the agenda of the Center for Molecular Imaging and Therapy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in a biomedical, biology, chemistry, or related life science with at least two years specialized laboratory experience with tissue culture and biodistribution procedures is required. Strong immunology or cell biology knowledge is desired. Handling small laboratory animals, compound administrations, performing common animal procedures (injections, surgical, fluid collections, necropsy) and tissue harvesting is required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to demonstrate strong personal effectiveness skills including integrity and trust, problem solving, decision making, organizational effectiveness and results orientation.
Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to listen effectively and clarify information.
Able to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities. Able to work accurately, paying attention to detail.
Able to work with confidential information appropriately, professionally, and discreetly.
